Price includes VAT ACTIVITY GUIDELINES The learner must: • Complete all pre-start and running checks before any activity takes place • The shutdown procedures must only be completed by the learner at the end of the test • All additional test requirements can be completed over the period of the test duration Operator safety & observations • Seat belt must be worn if stated in the employer’s risk assessment / Method statement • The Agricultural Tractor must be serviceable, meets the current legislation and be fitted with a trailer for towing, 3-point linkage and an operational PTO shaft suitable for attachments Travelling to work area The learner must: • Travel up and down a gradient with and without an attachment • Travel over varying terrain • Stop and start on the gradient whilst travelling up-hill/ down-hi • Manoeuvre through a chicane applying the full steering range in both forward and reverse direction • Reverse the Agricultural Tractor in a straight line and through a restriction and into a restricted area Attach / Remove implements and carry out working tasks • Prepare and set up the Agricultural Tractor for work • Attach trailer and set for travel • Remove trailer and secure • Attach 3-point linkage attachment • Connect PTO driven attachment and run • Remove PTO driven attachment and place safe and secure (if not able card can be restricted ) • Agricultural Tractor parked in a safe position with the engine and isolator key removed and handed to the instructor Additional notes • A verbal description to the instructor of the pre-start checks would be acceptable if the machine is hot • The operator’s manual must be available and accessible • The slope must be of sufficient incline with manoeuvring room on the top to enable the candidate to demonstrate the correct procedures for travelling up and down a gradient as per manufacturers recommendations Specifications • Reverse the Agricultural Tractor with trailer 30m • PTO attachment run to manufacturers recommended RPM • Travel up and down a gradient and over varying terrain with and without a towed trailer and attachment fitted • Restricted area for reversing task must be at least the full length of the trailer • Chicane must be completed in the forward direction only when towing a trailer • The PTO driven attachment may be used in conjunction with the trailer or 3-point linkage attachment Test timings • The full test must be completed within 1hr 20min Note • there is a theory and practical element
