The NPORS N005 Order Picker course provides theory and practical training in inspecting, manoeuvring and using the order picker for relevant load-handling tasks. It covers the equipment, controls, safety systems, stability, pre-use checks, work-area hazards and safe shutdown.

Learning outcomes
• Explain operator responsibilities, common hazards and the equipment’s operating limits.
• Identify the main components, controls, safety systems and capacity information.
• Complete pre-use checks and follow the defect-reporting procedure.
• Manoeuvre safely in open and confined areas, laden and unladen where applicable.
• Assess the work area, load, centre of gravity and stability risks.
• Use the order picker for relevant lifting, transfer, stacking or loading tasks.
• Park, secure and shut down the equipment correctly.
