The CPCS A58B course covers safe operation of a wheeled 360-degree excavator below 10 tonnes. It includes checks, travel, siting, bucket and quick-hitch use, excavation, loading, grading, reinstatement and shutdown.
Who this course suits
New or experienced operators who need the wheeled CPCS A58B excavator endorsement below 10 tonnes.
Learning outcomes
• Explain operator responsibilities, hazards, legislation and safe work methods.
• Use the operator’s manual and identify components, controls, safety systems and limitations.
• Complete pre-use checks, minor adjustments, PPE selection and safe access.
• Prepare, travel and site the 360-degree excavator safely for excavation, loading and grading.
• Select, fit and use buckets and quick-hitch systems correctly.
• Excavate, load and grade to information and tolerances, reinstate and shut down safely.
CITB Grant Eligible
This course may be eligible for CITB grant support where the employer is registered with CITB and meets the current eligibility requirements.
