CPCS A33 – Agricultural Tractor

The CPCS A33 course covers safe agricultural tractor use in a construction environment. It includes checks, site and highway configuration, travel, manoeuvring, implement and PTO attachment, service hazards, operation, transport and shutdown.
Who this course suits
Operators who use an agricultural tractor with mounted, trailed or PTO-driven implements on construction-related work.
Learning outcomes
• Describe the plant operator’s role and responsibilities.
• Identify the tractor’s components, controls, safety systems and terminology and follow the operator’s manual.
• Undertake pre-use checks and configure the tractor for site or highway travel.
• Travel over rough/undulating ground, inclines and level surfaces and manoeuvre in confined areas with mounted or trailed implements.
• Attach and set trailed implements, mounted implements and power take-off drives safely.
• Recognise underground/overhead service hazards and required controls.
• Operate an implement, then remove/store implements and shut down and secure the tractor.
• Explain safe loading and unloading for machine transport.
