• Explain operator responsibilities, hazards and safe working practices for a rigid-chassis dump truck.
• Identify components, controls, safety systems and machine capabilities/limitations using the manual.
• Carry out pre-use and running checks, basic preparation, PPE selection and defect reporting.
• Travel loaded and unloaded over suitable terrain and gradients while maintaining stability and control.
• Position safely for loading, monitor load distribution/capacity and discharge only on suitable ground.
• Complete shutdown and securing procedures.
