Overview
A work-based NVQ for experienced construction workers who supervise an occupational work area and the people carrying out the work.
Who this NVQ is for
Working supervisors with occupational competence and experience at Level 2 or equivalent who allocate, coordinate and monitor construction work.
Learning outcomes
On completion, candidates will be able to:
• Confirm work methods, resources, programme requirements and team responsibilities.
• Coordinate and organise work activities and maintain productive working relationships.
• Implement and monitor health, safety, welfare and environmental requirements.
• Allocate work and monitor the performance and development of individuals and teams.
• Check progress, quality and compliance and take action when work varies from requirements.
• Maintain records and communicate progress, problems and changes to relevant people.
Assessment
Workplace competence assessment and portfolio of evidence, using methods such as assessor observation, professional discussion, questioning, work products and suitable witness testimony. Internally assessed and quality assured by the centre, with external quality assurance by ProQual.
Entry requirements
Candidates need relevant occupational experience, experience supervising teams and occupational competence at least at Level 2 or equivalent. Evidence of suitability is required before registration.
