Overview
A work-based NVQ for construction site managers responsible for building and civil-engineering projects.

Who this NVQ is for
Experienced site managers who plan, coordinate, monitor and hand over building or civil-engineering work.

Learning outcomes
On completion, candidates will be able to:
• Develop working relationships, allocate work and monitor team performance.
• Establish and maintain health, safety, welfare, wellbeing and environmental-management systems.
• Evaluate work methods and plan site preparation, resources and project activities.
• Monitor progress, quality, dimensional accuracy, costs, programme and compliance.
• Coordinate contractors, plant, materials, information and project interfaces.
• Manage completion, commissioning, handover and relevant project records.

Assessment
Workplace competence assessment and portfolio of evidence, using methods such as assessor observation, professional discussion, questioning, work products and suitable witness testimony. Internally assessed and quality assured by the centre, with external quality assurance by ProQual.
