Learning outcomes
• Explain the supervisor’s responsibilities for mobile elevating work platform operations.
• Confirm that operators are trained, authorised and familiar with the selected MEWP.
• Assess ground, overhead, entrapment, weather and work-at-height hazards.
• Confirm that the MEWP, fall protection and rescue arrangements are suitable for the task.
• Plan the work area, exclusion zones, access and communication arrangements.
• Monitor safe operation and intervene when conditions or behaviour become unsafe.
• Follow breakdown, rescue, incident and emergency reporting procedures.
