• Identify common shoring components and the information needed before work starts.
• Assess the excavation, ground, services, access and surrounding loads.
• Inspect shoring components and report damage or unsuitable conditions.
• Install shoring in the planned sequence while maintaining safe access and exclusion controls.
• Inspect the installed system and prevent unauthorised changes.
• Remove the shoring in the planned sequence and leave the area safe.
