The NPORS N203 Trencher course develops the knowledge and practical skills needed to inspect, prepare and use the trencher for its intended task. It covers components and controls, pre-use checks, work-area hazards, safe manoeuvring, operating tasks and shutdown procedures.

• Explain industry hazards, safe working responsibilities and communication requirements.

• Conduct all pre-operational and running checks in accordance with manufacturer instructions and legal requirements.
• Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out trenching tasks.
• Carry out trencher tasks.
• Load material onto transporting vehicles or into containers.
• Complete safe shutdown, parking and securing procedures.
