Overview
A work-based NVQ for operators who prepare and use approved plant to process construction materials.
Who this NVQ is for
Experienced crusher, screener or batching-plant operators with access to the selected machine and normal workplace production tasks.
Learning outcomes
On completion, candidates will be able to:
• Follow health, safety, environmental and productive-working requirements for processing plant.
• Inspect guards, controls, emergency systems, feed arrangements and the work area before use.
• Prepare, start and operate the selected processing plant in the correct sequence.
• Control the feed, monitor output quality and respond to changing material or operating conditions.
• Isolate the plant before clearing blockages, adjustments or operator-level maintenance.
• Shut down, clean, secure and report defects or production issues.
Assessment
Workplace competence assessment and portfolio of evidence, using methods such as assessor observation, professional discussion, questioning, work products and suitable witness testimony. Internally assessed and quality assured by the centre, with external quality assurance by ProQual.
