Overview
A work-based NVQ recognising competence across practical construction and civil-engineering operations.
Who this NVQ is for
Experienced construction operatives whose normal role includes several approved construction-operation activities.
Learning outcomes
On completion, candidates will be able to:
• Follow workplace health, safety, welfare and productive-working requirements.
• Install and maintain work-area protection and use access equipment safely.
• Interpret work information, set out secondary dimensions and prepare the work area.
• Use powered tools, pedestrian plant and selected resources safely.
• Carry out the selected construction operations to the required line, level, quality and finish.
• Protect completed work, manage waste and leave the area safe and ready for handover.
Assessment
Workplace competence assessment and portfolio of evidence, using methods such as assessor observation, professional discussion, questioning, work products and suitable witness testimony. Internally assessed and quality assured by the centre, with external quality assurance by ProQual.
Entry requirements
